Another event we're excited about in Ithaca: Living with Solar and Wind Power in Ithaca: Lessons from an Energy-Efficient Lifestyle, coming up on Sept. 24th, 7-8:15 pm, at Greenstar Coop. It's 100% free and... 100% awesome? We hope so. Visit Greenstar's Community Calendar for more info or call 607.273.9392 to register.

Read on for the full event description.

Come to this talk and slide show by Steve and Cindy Nicholson, showing how a family of four can enjoy all the modern conveniences while using less than one-tenth of the electricity of an average home. They are “off the grid;” all the energy for their household comes from the sun and wind. Learn how the use of efficient appliances and lighting allows them to experience an ecological and sustainable lifestyle. They will also discuss the upcoming Solar Tour.

Some very intresting ideas and comments. I came across this page whilst looking for cheaper energy prices. My bills have risen by 35% this year and am now facing yet another increase by these greedy energy companies. (Thankfully I only rent so don't have to worry about a mortgage as well.) Has anyone tried this green and cheap renewable energy? If so, be intrested to know how it worked for you.
